HYROX 24/25 season wrap.

A dramatic season of highs and lows in equal measure.

It started with a big low, the closest I’ve ever come to needing to pull out from a race just 24hrs before. Thanks to the handy work of expert physio team at Nuffield health, I got through that 1st race injury free and it got me some races miles under the belt for what would come next.

That was Paris, a PB and what would become my last ‘open’ race of the season.

18 months into my HYROX journey I felt i needed to push myself, raise the bar & having been inspired watching the Elite 15 races, I’d decided to enter my 1st Pro race.

This was London and pretty daunting, could I handle the higher sled weight? Would I need to drop the sandbag more than once? Given injury that nearly cost me my Birmingham open race, was I even ready for the step up. Sat around 75kg at the time I questioned if I was too light / skinny for the Pro devision.

Well…we’re never really ready are we…so I just booked the London Pro race with the view, let’s see what I am capable of.

At 1hr 28 mins my first pro race was still faster than my first ever HYROX Open race only 18 months earlier, so I’m chalking that up a win.

From there I never really looked back:

HYROX Pro Cardiff 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Moral of the story. We often define our own limits in our head. Don’t let your limits be defined by what others have to say about you.

Train smart & hard. Recover harder e.g. @pliability & your next PB might be closer than you think.

Progress isn’t linear over a season as my result show, but slow and steady 📈 progress wins the race. Keep going you got this.

New 30 minute full length follow along HYROX training workout now available here. This hyrox training workout can be completed at home, in a hotel or gym when you have access to minimum equipment. If you have access to either a pair of dumbbells or kettlebells that is great, I'll also be using a sandbag & wall ball but these are optional
