Because this comes up a lot with beginners:

Do not use ChatGPT for chemistry.

Most answers are straight up wrong, and some are so bad that they can endanger ur life.

ChatGPT (and any other AI model, as far as i know) is not for direct chemistry advice. AFAIK some people do use AI for analysing long documents for specific stuff, but that's about it.

This is an issue, because there's sometimes people who email me screenshots asking on helping them with processes that would not work. (f.ex. catalytic reaction of methanol and ammonia at 30 atmospheres to yield methylamine, or mixing sodium cyanate and hydrochloric acid to make sodium cyanide)

I fear to wonder how many viewers do what chatgpt says without asking for advice from anyone.

For example:

ChatGPT when asked with how to neutralize sodium azide, it's first response is to mix it with hydrochloric acid. This liberates hydrazoic acid, which is volatile at room temperature and basically kills you in a whiff. (No, really the only person who smelled it and survived is some random from science madness who said it was so sickening that his nose closed up). Basically if you follow chatgpt advice you get INSTANT DEATH. And the other ones dont do anything.

The second screenshot shows a simple prompt with how to make basic copper carbonate. ChatGPT guesses that you have to also add sodium hydroxide and you really dont.


Sure, it may be right sometimes, but are you really willing to save 10 minutes of basic research, for a machine who was literally built to guess the words that would satisfy a prompt?

quick summary:

>basically, chemiolis made legal fluoro-mdma analog and gave it to his friend to try it (legally its alright, is it morally, thats your opinion)
>that chemist doesnt like drugs
>he *allegedly* messages chemiolis's dad and chemiolis's dad employer and files 2 copyright strikes (which violates fair use laws here on youtube) and kicks him off super secret chemist group chat
>chemiolis gets pissed off
>some bullshit happens
>they will start making videos on themselves, probably

why this matters:
1. (Confirmed) fraudulent copyright strikes are a very big no-go on youtube, im not sure if he got a strike, or the videos were just removed, but either way you are removing hours/days or even WEEKS of someone's work.
2. chemiolis is a cool guy and puts a lot of effort, money and research into his videos, and to see him screwed over like that is sad
3. Allegedly, that chemist was puppetering quite a bit of things backstage on chemistry youtube, like nagging @alDistractions (guy who called out some science youtuber) to make videos on labcoatz (for testing caffeine analog on himself) and now Chemiolis for that fluoro-MDMA shenaningas, which is bad.
4. (Allegedly) Contacting someone's employer because he hurt your feelings is bad.
5. (Allegedly) tc is snitching to law enforcement to get chemiolis in trouble

6. (My opinion) If this isnt addressed TC could start coming after more and more chemistry youtubers and trying to fuck them over.

that chemist is still yet to respond, but all of this does sure look pretty meh for him.

Hey, Prussian blue show is going on a hiatus for like a month due to general BuRnOoOuUuT. in the mean time, i've came up with some cool ideas you may want to see me try!
Also Sulphuric acid by V2O5 is on hold for now, cuz i'm having trouble with the apparatus, mainly the temperature... Also my lab got moved into the basement, new lab tour??????/??? haha (half my metal equipment is rusted due to humidity 👍)

due to the recent removal of my white phosphorus video for it apparently being vewwy dangewous and it violates da FiReArMs RulZZ ( <1g of WP btw.) and apparently making <1g of WP will give someone a guide to bomb their school, orphanage, kindergarten or something with white phosphorus (again <1g of wp from matchboxes, if you're a terrorist and you're willing to scrape 1 million matchboxes, then shiiit) , i've decided to remove every video of me making energetics, i'll still be doing showcases of energetics, because i genuienly like exotic explodey stuff. I left the 5-atz becasue tbh pushing it as an ExPlOwSiF is pushing it and the chemistry behind it is actually interesting. If you don't like this decision, then you're free to unsubscribe.

Would you like to see an 8-10 minute video on making cubane?

Now that the trend for making cubane is dead, i was thinking of making it, since i think it's a genuienly interesting preperation, however once i wrote everything up for it it turns out it's a really expensive project, especially with me having to buy some equipment like actual uv lamps and glassware like vigreux and shizz.

So i'm wondering if you guys would like to see it. Im asking, because i feel like most of you would be bored by an another cubane video.
