Calm and Still

Be calm when the thunder rumbles.

Be still when lightning strikes.

We will hear many sounds and see many sights.

We must not succumb to evil.

Why does calmness feel so obscure?

Since when did stillness become freedom?

Stay calm through trials and tribulations.

Stay still through trouble and torment.

The common notion is not the final word.

Calmness and stillness are not too absurd.

You have a choice to make, today and tomorrow.

No more thunderstorms and no need for sorrow.

Perhaps the days of pain and suffering have ceased.

Blessings of our brethren have more than increased.

Our Father built rooms in many mansions, brick by brick.

We are grateful to have a God who heals the sick.

He promises a more abundant life to those who trust.

He is loving, kind, gentle, righteous, and just.
