My goal for this fan film is to capture a raw, authentic side of Star Wars to give a fresh look.
I’m inspired by war movies and shows like @TheChosenSeries, which bring a sense of heroism and spiritual depth to their storytelling. So if you combine that with Mando, then I guess you get a unique Star Wars fan film that you probably haven’t seen before.

In the past couple of years, I’ve started researching and paying more attention to movie posters and thumbnails.
There’s something about conveying the essence and story of a film in a single frame that really captivates my imagination. I love exploring different themes, color palettes, and layouts, each giving a unique taste.
My friend Danny and I have been on a Shrek kick lately (we might be 20+, but it’s so good! Lol the music score in Shrek is a classic). Yesterday, we thought, “We should make a movie poster for Shrek.”
So today, I booted up Photoshop and got to work. We wanted a shot of the swamp with “the boys”: Shrek, Puss in Boots, and Donkey. I had to throw in the dragon behind his shack just for fun. Once I had my layout, I did some light shading and color correction on the characters to help blend them in the shot.
I didn’t think we would do anything with this, but now we’re printing them out and will frame them. I’m so pumped haha.
There’s something visually appealing about this, and I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Just watched this a few days ago… some quick thoughts:
1. The first 3min, I was hooked by the unique characteristics of the main character which kept me watching the whole way through (even tho I needed to go to bed lol). 2. The quality of the interviews, broll, and old footage from back in the day was great, but the motion graphics, animation, and sound, made it even more special! 3. And lastly, the interviewers had a great authentic take on the life of Solanus with their perspectives and own faith journeys which can bring transformation to others.
The eclipse was actually pretty incredible to witness. Here's a raw (unedited) photo of the eclipse in Northwest Ohio. This image was captured about 5 seconds before it was gone. I managed to adjust my camera settings just in time, before it was too late.
Pretty amazing!

2024 Eclipse!
