We bought a 1988 Land Rover 110 on Ebay to rebuild into a car for the Dakar Classic rally in 2026.
Was it possible to do, on a tight budget, in our shed?
We met FIA regulations, raised a lot of funds to get an entry and headed to Saudi Arabia to compete.
We are Helen & Marcella, and we are the first British female team to complete Dakar.

Yes, the long awaited delivery arrived and the front axle is built!
This feels like proper progress again.

As we head towards the end of Week 2 of our build, how do you think we are getting on?
I can tell you we are going to show you not one but two alternative uses for a yoga mat, and we find Chris’s woodworking skills come in useful !
