I haven’t talked about politics in years, but lately it’s been hard to stay quiet.
I’m seeing people I like and respect speak with so much anger and hatred toward others. I’ve read a lot on trying to understand both sides, and while yes—freedom of speech matters and everyone is entitled to their opinion—sometimes not everything needs to be said out loud.
What we say has an impact. It affects our youth. It affects people who are searching for purpose and belonging. And as adults, we’ve heard the same claims over and over again—“this president will destroy everything.”
But do we actually understand what the President’s role is? Or is it easier to blame one person?
The truth is, the President does not control everything. The system is designed that way.
* The President runs the executive branch and oversees federal agencies * Serves as commander-in-chief, but Congress controls funding and war powers * Signs or vetoes laws, but Congress writes them and can override vetoes * Handles foreign policy, with limits and approvals required * Appoints judges and officials, often needing Senate approval * Enforces laws, but cannot create them alone
We have checks and balances for a reason:
* Congress makes laws * The President enforces them * Courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, can block anything unconstitutional
No one person runs the country alone.
So before blaming one individual for everything, it’s worth taking a step back and understanding how the system actually works.
And when it comes to violence and tragedy, we also need to be honest with ourselves. The constant fear, outrage, and hostility pushed across social media and news cycles do have an impact. People are listening. Some are not stable. Words matter.
This isn’t about silencing opinions—it’s about recognizing responsibility.
At some point, we all have to stop pointing fingers and start looking inward.

I’m not perfect and I’m not trying to preach . Everyone is guilty of something. But I choose to move on from all the toxicity starting today. As we approach the week until Easter let’s remember what it’s all about. You don’t have to be religious to understand the message we need to learn . Life is about lessons .
Let’s stop the negativity and chaos.
Holy Week isn’t about tearing each other down—it’s about lifting each other up.
Jesus’ message was simple: Love more. Forgive more. Choose peace.
We don’t have to agree on everything to treat each other with respect.
👉 Take a breath. 👉 Let go of the hate. 👉 Choose better.
Because this week is about grace… not division.
I challenge you to post something each day for a week to say something positive.
