🏔️ Not every trip becomes a vlog... but some are too beautiful not to share. ❤️

Couldn't capture a proper travel vlog for Dhondenling Monastery & the Tibetan Settlement this time, but managed to click a few pictures and record a few glimpses. So here's everything you should know if you're planning to visit this hidden gem near Bengaluru.

🚗 Route Suggestion

Google Maps usually shows 2 routes.

❌ Avoid the shorter route via Lokkanahalli.
Although it offers beautiful views of Male Mahadeshwara (MM) Hills, a long stretch of the road is in very poor condition. It took us almost 5 hours to reach because of the bad patches.

✅ Take the route via Hanur instead.
The roads are much better, and the drive is scenic with lush farmlands on both sides. We returned via this route and reached Bengaluru in about 4 hours.

💡 Tip: Add Hanur as a stop in Google Maps to ensure it selects the better route.

🏡 Accommodation
There are 10 guest house rooms inside the settlement.

• 3 AC Rooms – ₹1,500/night
• 7 Non-AC Rooms – ₹1,000/night

📅 Booking opens only 8 days in advance at 9:00 AM on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are also a few budget rooms (around ₹550/night) near the main monastery. You'll need to enquire directly at the monastery for availability.

🍜 Food
There's a cafeteria near the guest house serving authentic Tibetan cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at very reasonable prices.

If you visit, don't leave without trying Tibetan food—it's one of the highlights of the trip! 🥟🍜

There are also a few local food options near the main monastery.

🙏 What to Explore
Most people visit only the main monastery, but there are 4 more monasteries spread across the Tibetan settlement, each worth exploring.

Take your time, walk around, and spend a few quiet moments inside the monastery. The peaceful atmosphere is something you'll remember long after the trip.

🛍️ Souvenir Shops
You'll find Tibetan souvenir and handicraft shops near the monastery. Most of them are open primarily on weekends, as tourist footfall is lower during weekdays.

✅ Perfect for a one-day trip or a peaceful weekend getaway
✅ Feels like a slice of Ladakh or Spiti, without travelling that far
