On February 27, 2025, VDM publicly alleged that the EFCC was plotting his arrest in retaliation for his criticism of the commission’s chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede. He claimed that a prominent lawyer and a social media influencer had submitted clips and photos of him spraying money at a party to the EFCC as potential grounds for arrest.

5. March 13, 2025 – Court Orders Arrest for Defamation Against Mercy Chinwo
In March 2025, the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, issued a bench warrant for VDM’s arrest after he failed to appear in a defamation case filed by gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. VDM had accused her on social media of diverting $345,000 linked to her former record label boss. The court directed the police to arrest and produce him in court.

6. May 2, 2025 – Arrest Over Cyberstalking Allegations
On May 2, 2025, VDM was reportedly arrested again over allegations of cyberstalking. He had visited a GTBank branch in Abuja to complain about unauthorized deductions from his mother's account, but was picked up shortly afterward by masked individuals.
