WU BBE entrance exam preparation & selection procedure | Student life in Vienna (Austria) | Education in Austria

WU has published 8 out of 13 WU BBE maths tasks more than 2 weeks ago on their website and I also made a solutions webinar for them and posted its recording on my YouTube channel BUT➡️

There were 5 topics that were left out from the 2025 WU BBE entrance exam that WU hasnt shared

1. Elementary financial mathematics (which had a long text description)
2. Linear and quadratic equations (this was one of the rare not text, but equation-based task in 2025)
3. Polynomial functions (where you had to be creative and work with what's given)
4. Differentiation and single variable optimization (long description & system of equations for different cases)
5. Elementary probability (with a 3 level solution tree diagram that you would need to carefully construct)

And of course difficulty can be subjective as each student has their most favourite and not so liked topics in maths, but overall, those 5 tasks (or most of them) are relatively more difficult compared to the ones posted for the other 8 maths WU entrance exam topics📚

So after one of my exam simulation (bbe-simulation.com) participants texted me that she was surprised by the difficulty of the maths tasks I made there I decided to put in the extra work for all the WU BBE & WU WiSo applicants and make additional 5 exam-like tasks based on 2025 students' feedback on the remaining topics lol
The open WU BBE (&also useful for WiSo) entrance exam preparation webinar will be held on Saturday (13.06.2026) at 17:00 CEST

Comment "webinar" or dm me and I will send you the Zoom invitation link🫱🏼‍🫲🏽💬

&more announcements and useful information in my blog (www.bbe-exam.com/blog) will be posted soon, so time to press that follow button @maria.teachie to not miss out on them!☺️

Looking forward to seeing your names in the webinar live-stream and I will also announce June's open offline class soon! 🗓️

2026 Updates for WU BBE & WU WiSo entrance exams that take place on the 30th of June
(&offline exam simulations announcement at the end of the post👩🏽‍🏫🤓😉)

1. The number of applicants has been published and it is more than in 2025 (which is rather unexpected given the offline format & travel & visa questions that come along with it). Around 3900 applicants applied for 240 WU BBE spots and 6370 applicants applied for 2703 spots for WU WiSo. Compared to ~3700 BBE applicants and ~6000 WiSo applicants in 2025

What does it mean for the exam acceptance score?
Historically for BBE it ranged from 78% to 86.8% in the recent years, but with the newly introduced negative point system and honest&fair conditions for everyone, it should go down a bit and be around 80%, but again, given the increased competition you should still aim for as high as possible!

And for WiSo the acceptance score was very close to 70% in 2024&2025 (someone who got over 69% got in, someone who got around 68% did not get in in 2025), 1 would assume this year for it to stay around there, but again, time will tell!

2. WU has generously published the formula sheets and selected past exam exercises for WU BBE (8 out of 13 maths tasks) & WU WiSo (6 out of 10 maths tasks back in 2025 from 2025) and I have published detailed video explanations to each exercise on my YouTube channel (BBE done by me and WiSo done by my colleague Noah), dm me for the link/s

And as you can see, the formula sheets for both exams are rather short and nowhere as detailed as the standard Austrian matura ones (which can be found here srop.at), so please dont count on them and study everything now not to regret it later, as on the exam half of the job is knowing the formula, and the other important half is knowing when & why & how & which formula to apply to solve a task!📝

3. Negative point system which is in place for 2026 WU BBE & WU WiSo entrance exams is explained in the post

In June I will be hosting offline exam simulations in my office for WU BBE applicants who would like to test their knowledge & strategy in exam-like conditions beofre the exam, message me for more details!🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Do the WU BBE entrance exam tasks and their “theme” change over the years?

Each year WU keeps the core of it more or less the same: same 13 math topics (with only very slight changes over the years), same Economics book since 2019 with the 6 chapters, and the same English language requirements

BUT each year they changes things up a bit and make new tasks.

🧮For example, in 2024 maths questions had a lot of equations & functions-related questions, while in 2025 almost all 13 maths tasks were text/scenario-based ones.

🇬🇧Another example would be 3 grammar-related questions in the English part in 2023 and only 1 grammar-related question in 2025.

📈Economics part also varies a bit year to year, if in 2021 the accounting ratios and financial statements were barely mentioned, in 2022 there were several accounting questions and they have been appearing in different combinations each year ever since (including 2025, where price share ratios were also asked).

So, my job as your teacher is to make sure you know how to approach any task in any format for any topic, as if something was asked in one way in the previous year, it could be asked in a different format/style in the next one👩🏽‍🏫

That is why in the upcoming open (free) WU BBE offline (+live-streamed) class on the 15th of May 2026 at 18:00 I will show and explain math tasks for 1 topic of your choice (the most popular topic asked in the comments) in all the existing formats that have been asked throughout the years:

1. Equation-based task (can take quite a lot of time, sometimes skipping them and coming back to them later can be the best strategy to maximize your points)

2. Graph-based task (usually the best ones to solve time-wise as you can figure out most answers by just looking at the graph)

3. Text-based task (here the difficult part is not solving the equation, it is figuring out which equation you need to get to then solve it from the long description in the task, this is usually new&challenging for students who are not used to this format)

⬇️📝So, comment the topic you would want to go through now and the most asked one will be discussed on 15.05.2026 at 18:00! #wubbe #wuvienna #wubbeexam #wubbeentranceexam
